Urbsounds playing live at Grim Electronicittà / France

Urbsounds are a free improvised industrial-electronic music project where all the Urbsounds Collective artists play together. As a “band” they have performed on a number of occasions however it was only in 2008 when they released their first common 10” vynil Back Mirror .

Urbsounds Collective were interviewed for the Slovak TV programme Umenie whilst in the studio working on a new project. The Urbsounds “bit” starts in minute 5 and it’s in Slovak language.

... we have opened up to become a platform that promotes artists across the world who share the understanding that music is an inherently political force of change. We collaborate with artists who focus their attention on desolated parts of society and reflect it in a challenging way. There are scars all over this dystopian sprawl we are living in. Urbsounds is collecting the grime that oozes from the wounds, using this fluid to fuel the pressing of vinyl LPs and the coding of digital releases
