Janitor In A Drum by SoundProjector

Dead Janitor - Medusa

Dead Janitor’s Medusa LP

is a fair-enough slab of electronica with beats…creator Brano Findrik is the Slovakian creator who also records as Sound Sleep, and this may be his first-ever foray on vinyl after a number of file-based releases for Exitab and Strefa Szarej Records, not counting his 2008 debut The Boring Structure which he self-released on CDR to give to friends. The Medusa title is intended to express something about “hostility…in contemporary politics and culture”, which to my mind is a rather narrow interpretation of everyone’s favorite Gorgon from classical history and her profound mythical significance. There’s been many rich and fascinating readings of the Medusa myth, including subtle psychological and feminist retellings, that it seems quite pedestrian to nail her down as simply “hostile”. Oh well. Dead Janitor’s music promises a certain amount of violence – he’s trying to do something about putting rhythm before melody, playing hob with samples, and setting his breakbeats loose at dangerous speeds. However, this limp and mediocre music doesn’t live up to that promise, and most of the tracks here run out of steam before they even get started. Sounds competent enough on the surface, but Findrik needs to find a way to better channel his energy, and arrange his ideas into a coherent order. From 27 June 2019.

Kragrowargkomn - TMA

We are excited to work on the new album TMA by Kragrowargkomn.

“TMA” – darkness, gloom, void…

As such, darkness does not exist — it is merely a lack or absence of light. Abstract phenomena such as darkness or void are here and known to us, but we can never really perceive them.
Where there is an absence of harmony, euthymia, and melody, there is plenty of space for creeping doom rumbling, industrial bustle, and black metal dissonance turning music into a rough noise mass.

L’Allievo / Dj Balli / MC Shell8bit – The 8 bit Prometheus | [ / ] no. 47

Dj Balli - The 8 bit Prometheus

Frankenstein, or the 8 bit Prometheus is DJ Balli’s latest sonic creature, released by Urbsounds in collaboration with MFZ Records. Stemming from the mashup book of the same name, published in Lisbon by Chilli Com Carne, the album is a tribute to the tradition of radio dramas. The music by L’Allievo (Samuele Maoloni, aka AcidZab) sets the tone for a wild ride through Mary Shelley’s masterpiece, as seen through the lenses of the most absurd electronic music underground.

NTS Radio’s Francesco Fusaro is the exotic Italian voice walking us through the music horrors caused by the Monster, a wretched mashup of incongruous music quotes, created the on-chip retro sound device by what critics think is the alter ego of Balli playing Game Boy solos on main tracks of this record. Speculations aside, Frankenstein, or the 8 bit Prometheus is a Bolognese-tasting tale of audio shenanigans that will oddly elicit your experiments with music seances and sound collages.

Dead Janitor

is the alter-ego for Slovak electronic technician Braňo Findrik. Over the past decade, he has steadily produced a series of digital releases leading to his debut Medusa LP for Urbsounds. With an arsenal of pixelated breakbeats and stuttering samples, Dead Janitor presents an adventurous form of polymetric electronica, echoing the complex IDM explorations of the pioneering work of Aphex Twin and Autechre.

Venta Protesix – Loneliness And Deviancy

Venta Protesix - Loneliness And Deviancy

The new album Loneliness And Deviancy by VENTA PROTESIX was released on the 18th of October 2019.

What happened to Venta Protesix?

In this new album, the sound seems completely different from his previous works out for Urbsounds. It looks like Venta Protesix is back to forge, with the help of his laptop, those sounds that were part of his early works of 2007-2008.

Venta Protesix – Loneliness And Deviancy

In Loneliness And Deviancy, the incommunicability permeates the atmosphere of this new album.

You will find it hard to track down his anger and his unlistenable noises in tracks like Staring At The Flowing Lukewarm Water or Dreaming Of An Artificial Hymen. At the same time, in Emotionless Intercourse Part 1 or in Morning Depressive Anxiety you will feel like you’ve been thrown into aseptic cybernetic rooms where there is no physical contact and no words between humans.

Venta Protesix – Loneliness And Deviancy

But don’t get fooled, because after listening to this album you’ll find out that Venta Protesix is ready to inject you other doses of cold binary codes transposed into the domestic noise of one laptop. Tracks like Victim Of Online Narcissism or the draining and exhausting final part of Emotionless Intercourse Part 2 testify as to that. We are in front of the most intimate work of this strange laptop noiser from the South of Italy.
